“Who is this Ultimate team? We’ve never heard of them and all of a sudden, they’re everywhere!”
This was overheard mat-side by one of our instructors Alice at the NSW Winter Cup on Sunday, where our presence was definitely felt.
We came together really well as a team, we put the UJJ banner up in the top left corner of the grandstand, and the grey t-shirts could be seen everywhere scattered throughout the tournament. We had five black belts and other coloured belts coaching mat-side, and family and friends gathering together to cheer on the competitors, take photos and videos, and make it a great atmosphere and awesome day.
Well done to everyone who represented Ultimate Jiu Jitsu at the event, both competitors and families and friends that came out to support our athletes. This was our biggest turnout yet with 72 competitors, but still only a fraction of the number of students we have training at all the UJJ academies. The best is yet to come.
Congratulations to our whole team on an amazing effort, who gave us very exciting matches and showed fighting spirit and determination. Congratulations to the medal winners:

Now we’re back into our training, learning from any mistakes that need to be looked at, and sharpening up those moves that worked really well and making them even more efficient. In September, our official gi’s will arrive and we’ll really hit it out of the park with our uniforms, so stay tuned for this. Thank you to everyone for representing UJJ and also for coming along to support the team, these events couldn’t happen without you.
