Sydney Jiu Jitsu Championship 2022

Congratulations to everyone that represented Ultimate Jiu Jitsu at the Sydney Jiu Jitsu Championships on Sunday. It was the first big comp for UJJ and we went in with a small but fierce team of our fighters. Each and every one of them did us proud with their performance and competitive spirit.

For our competitors, this was the perfect comp to get control of their nerves and learn to steer the adrenalin into their technique. I can tell you from experience that when you do this, you begin to develop your game. You see what works and what doesn’t work against resisting an opponent, and you also see what your own body’s natural reaction to a stressful situation is. This is essential for your development as a Jiu Jitsu student and very useful to you as a person in general.

We’ve got a lot to look forward to coming up, where we can flex our competitor muscles again at the Autumn Cup in May and NSW State Championships in July.
